First and foremost be sure that your surroundings are safe. be cautious around broken glass and any loose nails that may have become dislodged from nearby facilities. Take note of any unusual smells such as gas, as there may be a leak as a result of the storm damages. Surveying the damages inflicted on your home or business will help expedite the insurance claim process. Documenting damages with photographic evidence also helps speed up the process. Assess your roof for damages such as loose shingles, punctures or holes. All can result in bigger issues down the road.
